Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish actor and model since November 11, 1996. Following her small debut part as an archaeologist Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, 1989's Elsa Schneider - a Nazi-sympathizing character in A View to a Kill (Bond film, 1985) She went on to play the Nazisympathizing Elsa Schneider. Siobhan Doovan played Charlotte in Taffin in 1988 and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody was approached by a photographer who asked her to model. She then developed her career as a commercial model. Doody strove to avoid glamorous and sexy roles, that was a rule she applied in her acting. She accepted a small role in the film Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill after her name was picked by the director of casting. Doody was in John Willis Screen World Volume 2, as one 12 promising actors to be cast in 1986. 38. Doody, who was only 18 when she played Doody in A prayer for the dying (1987), starring Mickey Rourke. Doody is the youngest Bond Girl to date. in 1987 Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying in which she played IRA Member Siobhan Donovan. Doody was Archibald Craven's wife Lilias, in his dream in the 1987 adaptation of The Secret Garden. The episode of the Storyteller Sapsorrow was her first leading role. It aired in 1988 alongside John Hurt, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before taking probably her most high-profile part ever as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser and archaeologist The Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in which she starred alongside Harrison Ford. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film, as Indy's dad. In 1991 Doody co-starred opposite Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. She then moved to Hollywood. The actress later became Flannery Charlie Sheen's agent, as well as her girlfriend on the set of Major League II. She was chosen to be the replacement for Cybill Shepherd, who had been L'Oreal's spokesperson. Doody's first appearance on the big screen came in 2003, when Michael Caine played Doody in a short role. She starred along with Patrick Swayze, in the 2004 TV film version to King Solomon's Mines. Doody filmed a role in Danny Dyer's 2010 film The Rapture. Doody was a guest on RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was later canceled. In 2011 she began the second season on E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way which was a film from 2014. In November of 2018, she was honored by the Almeria the tierra de cine prize as well as the honor of a star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
